Trinity treats st. peter with tlc!
'THE KITCHEN'
'The Kitchen' is a free community meal served at Trinity on Monday evenings at 5:30 pm. 'The Kitchen' program was started by the youth of Trinity after a mission trip. Upon returning, the youth felt passionate about making a difference in their own community. Years later, 'The Kitchen' is still going strong with the support of many community volunteers.
ST PETER AREA FOODSHELF
The Foodshelf was originally a ministry of Trinity and operated out of the small white house next to the church for many years. They have since moved to a larger location and become their own non-profit agency but Trinity continues to be a rigorous supporter of their cause. We collect food and money several times each year and many members of Trinity still volunteer with them.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Trinity is a proud supporter of Habitat for Humanity. We collect funds, participate in drives, and send volunteers to help build houses. Our Trinity Quilters even make quilts for families of the Habitat houses.
ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY
We walk a 2-mile section of highway 169, south of St. Peter. This is done twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.
CHILDREN'S WEEKEND FOOD PROGRAM
We regularly pack food for this program. It's purpose is to provide child-friendly, nutritious, non-perishable food items for breakfast, lunch and snacks for local students on most non-school days of the regular school year.
LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICES
We give a regular benevolence to Lutheran Social Services and strongly support their mission. We also make regular donations of items to The Reach Youth Drop-In Center. We appreciate their recognition of Trinity as a 2013 Servant to Christ Award Recipient and plan to continue serving them in many ways.
