Baptism at Trinity
Baptism is the great Sacrament of initiation, adoption, cleansing, liberation, and sharing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism gives shape to our whole life in Christ; it gives us a new identity. The pastors at Trinity delight in working with you either as a family bringing a child or an adult.
The following steps are helpful:
Call the church office (507)-934-4786 to see if the date you prefer is available for baptism. (If another baptism is scheduled for this date, we will, as a courtesy, check with the other family to see if they are comfortable with a multiple baptism. Likewise, we'll check with you.)
One of the pastors will meet with you for about an hour to walk through the baptismal liturgy with you, so you have both understanding and comfort with the Sacrament and Trinity’s practices.
Adult Baptisms are a bit more complicated as instruction in the basics of the Christian faith is a pre-cursor. Again, contact the church office or one of the pastors.
The normal practice is that baptisms occur within the context of worship. Exceptions, under certain circumstances, are made for individual baptisms either at church, home, or hospital.
