CHRISTIAN EDUCATION IN THE AGE OF COVID-19
We know that parents/guardians are struggling—it seems like the world is pulling you and your family in a million ways at once and is asking way too much of you. The realities of this pandemic are hitting our young families hard, and we want to support you in the best ways we know how. This year, our education programs are designed to meet you where you are and provide tools for your children's continued growth in the Christian faith and life. We will be moving forward with all of the great programs your family expects, but we're making some changes to better meet all of our needs in this Covid pandemic.
Each program will be a combination of at-home and virtual learning and fun. Your leaders and fellow worshippers at Trinity will be working hard to prepare monthly kits to provide your children with the materials necessary to complete curricula at home. We hope to make as much of these materials available off-line as possible, so that you and your family can create a new faith routine that fits with your new Covid realities. And then, regularly, there will be an opportunity for you and your children to join your pastors and volunteers online, to check in and discuss the learning you've done on your own. We'll also have some fun in these virtual gatherings, too. 😊
We don't want these programs to overload your family's schedule, which is why we're adopting such a flexible schedule this year. With so much unknown waiting for us in the coming months, your pastors and CYF leaders (Children, Youth, and Family) will continue to meet regularly with the council and Health Response Team. Likely, there are even more changes coming our way, either towards further opening up or further distancing; however this fall and winter plays out, we will be in consistent communication with you and your family.
For now, please take some time to register your children for our programs! Now, more than ever, it will be important to keep our faith connections alive and thriving—your larger Trinity family is here to help you!
