ABOUT
OUR WORSHIP SERVICES
Worship
Services
Trinity offers a variety of styles of worship experiences, traditional,
contemporary, and mixed. Over the summer months, both Sunday services
are “traditional” as our congregation acquaints itself with
a new worship resource: Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW) – the
“red book” in our pews.
Liturgy
Trinity’s worship experiences, whatever style, generally follow
an ancient pattern, a pattern which is now common to all “liturgical”
churches. For example, the Scripture readings are taken from the Revised
Common Lectionary which means one would hear these same texts read in
Roman Catholic, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Methodist, and COCU churches
on that day. This means, too, that we observe church seasons and festival
days celebrating events in the life of Jesus or the Church.
Holy
Communion
This event, celebrating Christ’s promised presence with us in bread
and wine for “forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation” is
normally on the first and third Sundays of the month, all festival days,
and each Sunday during the Easter season. All the baptized who hunger
and thirst for God’s love and forgiveness are welcome to receive
the bread and wine of Holy Communion among us.
Educational
Opportunities
Trinity offers many, many opportunities from pre-school through Adulthood
for learning and growth in one’s faith. These include: Sunday School,
Vacation Bible School, Confirmation (8th and 9th grade), Men’s Bible
Studies, Women’s Bible studies, Teen Groups, Adult Forums, Topical
courses, and the like.
TV
Broadcast
Trinity’s 8:00am worship service is re-broadcast over local access
(St. Peter, Channel 7) at 9:30am on Sundays and on Monday evenings at
6:00pm.
Fellowship
Typically “Lutheran”, fellowship or “just being together”
is nearly a Third Sacrament for Trinity folks. We enjoy weekly coffee
hour at 9:00am on Sundays, potlucks, and a weekly Wednesday evening Fellowship
Supper from 5:30 to 6:30pm.
