SOCIAL MINISTRY COMMITTEE

The mission of the Social Ministry Committee shall be to enable and empower the members of Trinity Lutheran Church to serve God and others in our community, nation and the world through their benevolence, social service and advocacy.

Habitat for Humanity
Trinity is a sponsor of Habitat for Humanity. We are always encouraging and looking for those willing to volunteer time to the current house under construction.

Food Share
We collect food and money, normally in March, for the "Greater Minnesota Food Share Drive" and for our local food sheld serving people as friends.

Fair Trade Products
We stock a "Fair Trade" stand at church where members can purchase coffee, tea, cocoa and chocolate to help small growers receive a fair price for their merchandise.

Adopt-a-Highway
We walk a 2-mile section of the highway just east of Cleveland. This is done twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.

Kids Against Hunger
We participate in gathering contributions for meals that we package. We coordinate the event and volunteers. This event is usually scheduled in January. Dried products are bagged, to be sent to poor countries, that will provide nutrition for the people there. Donations pay for the ingredients and volunteers bag the dried food. All ages are welcome!
