PROPERTY COMMITTEE

The purpose of the property committee is to care for and protect church facilities including grounds, buildings and equipment and to enhance their appearance, facilitate their use and ensure their maximum contribution to the activities and programs of this congregation.

Some of the ways the committee accomplishes this are:

  • Understand and implement congregational policies relating to the use of Trinity’s property and equipment.
  • Understand and implement the congregation’s policies regarding safety measures for building occupants.
  • Anticipate and arrange for regular preventative maintenance of all mechanical equipment such as heating and cooling systems.
  • Annually review the insurance coverage and make recommendations to the Executive Committee regarding appropriate changes.
  • Oversee compliance with the city ordinances.
  • Arrange for routine and emergency repairs of facilities, mechanical and custodial equipment.
  • Be responsible for the purchase of new and/or replacement equipment authorized by this congregation through the annual budget process or by the Executive Committee in the event of an emergency.
  • Be responsible for recommending an annual budget to the congregation and council for the protection and maintenance of the congregation’s physical assets.

Ministry work completed over the past few years includes:

  • Remodeling and upgrading of the rental property Miller house;
  • Reshingling of the church garage and storage shed;
  • Installation of a divider wall in the Gustafson room;
  • Installation of an entrance ramp at the southeast back kitchen entrance;
  • Replacement of the furnace in the white house which houses the St. Peter Area Food Shelf;
  • Replacement of two furnaces and two air conditioners in the church;
  • Adoption of a beautification/landscape project for the removal and planting of new shrubs at Trinity.
